We'll bring the world his Truth

Two Sundays ago I was asked to speak for a few minutes about how I could raise my little boys with a knowledge of the priesthood and why it is so important.

At the time I completely froze, I was disorganized and didn't really say what I wanted to. But of course I have been thinking non-stop since about what I meant to say.

There is an amazing Primary song entitled The Army of Helaman.
In The Book of Mormon there is a story about a group of very young men who were led into a battle by a leader named Helaman. Many of these young men grew up without fathers, but they state unequivocally that they know God would protect them, Because their MOTHERS knew.

That is what I want to be for my boys. Nick is an amazing example, but I want them to know that I know too!

I look forward to a future in which our home will be drenched in priesthood holders. (12 years or so) It makes it almost OK to be so outnumbered.

We are as the army of Helaman.
We have been taught in our youth.
And we will be the Lord’s missionaries
To bring the world his truth

You don't raise heroes; you raise sons.
And if you treat them like sons,
they'll turn out to be heroes,
even if its just in your own eyes.

Since you've been gone....

Nick comes back from scout camp tonight. Since Monday he has been basking in the Dirt, Flag ceremonies and 80 degree weather.
We are so excited to see him, but a lot has happened since he has been gone

Cooper learned to catch a ball!!
Jacks slept for 8 hours straight!!
Cooper got a Big Boy Bed!!
I am certain I could never survive as a single mom when I realized, after running errands this morning, that I had on no Make-up. (no wonder the nice lady in the grocery store offered to take my SCREAMING child home!) I Look like I haven't slept in months (thank you chronic under-eye circles!!)
Can't wait for Daddy to be home!!

Jacks at 2 months

Holy Cow not possible that it has already been 2 months. Only one more month of summer and then, back to school...

Jacks today:
-Is HUGE we said goodbye to most of his 0-3 onesies a few weeks ago! He is now happily wearing 3-6
-Has rolled over from belly to back once
-Slept for 8 hours last night (to bad big brother chose last night to be needy)
-Can grab/bat at toys dangled above him
-Loves being in the Moby. He will even stop fussing when he sees me putting it on!
-Has rejected his pacifier, but drank from a bottle today (practice for school)

-Loves Mommy Most :)

I will add his stats Thursday after his Dr. Appt
Post Edit:
Jacks is 24 inches long..88 %
and 12 lbs 12 oz.. 55%

He is so tall no wonder he is wearing 6 month old clothes!!

Today Coop is:
-Learning about the letter A

In the last 8 weeks....

I have learned...

-You CAN survive on 3 1/2 hours of sleep
-There is an evil conspiracy that your children will both start crying at the same time at least 2 times a day
-Sometimes you have to just let one of them cry
- If you let your 3 yr old use the baby tub as a filling station for his water squirter, he WILL assume he should be naked and act on that assumption
-Bed time should not be negotiable
-A pantyliner will NOT substitute for a nursing pad in a pinch
-Mobys are gifts from heaven.
- 3 yr olds are amazingly resilient and patient
-Insulation Contractors cannot be trusted
-Air conditioners are fickle
-It is easier to teach a class of high schoolers how to conjugate French verbs than to Potty-train my 3 year old!

Remind me why I do this again....

Oh Yeah :)

Orchard Assignment

Our ward had an orchard assignment on Monday, so we went as a family. My folks were still in town, so they gamely came with us.

How do you like my picking basket?

Coop loved picking the apricots off the low branches for gandma.

Coop has been my little helper lately. I am glad we brought him to this service opportunity. I want him to continue loving to help and learning to serve

P.S. Have you ever been pre-warned that you were getting a new Bishop?? the stake president informed us that we would be...... next Sunday! weird!!

A Blessing

We are so grateful to have this little guy in our family. We are so excited to watch him grow and learn. I hope and pray everyday that we can be good parents for him.

In Jacks blessing he was asked to listen for and heed the promptings of the spirtit in his life, and I know we will strive to raise him in an environment where the spirit will dwell.

I am so grateful to have the priesthood in our home.
For the example of sacrifice and service that Nick is for our Boys.

Welcome to Our Family
Baby Jack.
