Wrapping up 2010

First we had to disassemble Christmas.
Coop was a big help.

 Jacks not so much!

Then we got together with our neighbors and had a New Years Party
(That ended at 8:00)
When did we get to be so UNCOOL?

The P.E.

One sunny Friday in October 3 very interesting things happened

First
Nick took an 8 hour examination to become a Professional Engineer.

Second
Because the test was in Salt Lake and I don't like being left home alone the boys and I went along and went to the Discovery Gateway Museum.

Third
I sideswiped some guy in downtown Salt Lake.

Now I mention these things today for 2 very important reasons.
First
Yesterday I finally fixed the dent I put in the car!

And Second
Nick just found out he passed!!

Congratulations Bah!!

I'll be Home for Christmas (2010)

For the first time EVER, we got to spend Christmas at Home.
Totally awesome for 2 reasons:
1.  We didn't have to transport Christmas with us
2.  Christmas day was 55 degrees and we went to the Park!

Christmas Morning Dawned at around 8:00 in our house
Iron Man, Stockings,

 and a Stuffed Alligator
(Jacks cracked up when he saw it at the store)

My nieces were here
along with my parents
it was so much fun to have so many
children for Christmas!

Everyone felt that Jacks needed just a little bit of help!!

Coop loves his new Train Track
and the SuperHero Memory Game
from Aunt Anne.
Jacks loves everything, but he is easy!

And yes that is a huge red sore on Coops nose. He totally turfed it right into the cement on
Christmas Eve!
I call it his Homage To Rudolph (Like a Light Bulb!)

The Night Before Christmas

Twas the Night Before Christmas and all through the City
The Christmas lights are all Twinkly and Pretty
The floors in my classroom are all washed and dried
The Happy little elves all beam with pride!

Neighbor gifts are delivered to those thought dear
Presents are licked to be sure ownership is clear
The Christmas tree is all dressed up; not Drab
And who can put a price on the entertainment value of a bag!
The stockings look cozy all ready to fill;
Please, oh please, Santa don't come until.....
My boys are all dressed up, and snug in their beds

Presents would be nice, but bring LOVE instead.

@ 7 months

Jacks:

Is so much fun and is babbling all day long
Is really sucking at the nap-time thing,
But is kicking Butt at sleeping through the night (YEAH)
Loves Kicks and those baby puffs and Bread, and crackers and .........FOOD
Thinks Big Brother is the funniest ever!

Today Coop:
Is kicking butt at potty training, but only when he is in under wear, because ...well.. "Diapers are just for peein' in your pants"  (Direct Quote)
So now all we have to do is get his babysitter to let him wear underwear.

On Wednesday Coop gets to come to school with me and attend a preschool put on by the child development class!!

P.S.  We got family pictures taken last week and I get the print release tomorrow, so something to look forward to!!

Giving Thanks

Thanks to some Seriously over exaggerated
"Storm Warnings".
I wasted a personal day and we started our Vacation Tuesday.

A 7 hour drive (with NO Storminess) to the in-laws and we were good to go!

Wednesday was quiet and nice.
While my in-laws watched my sleeping kids
all the Adult children headed out to see Harry Potter.

Thursday there was a lot of cooking and waiting...
ya see Nicks oldest Brother is ALWAYS late,
luckily most of the Thanksgiving dishes weren't half-bad cold.
I ate a lot of potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato salad, candied Yams and Sweet Potatoes...YUM.  And Coop got a sweet Bruise over his eye while ducking to avoid his curling-iron-wielding cousin.

Friday we drove 40 minutes to find some snow and do some sledding.
Did I mention that the"Storm Warnings"  Were a little bit over exaggerated?
It was so much fun, Coop loved the "Deep Snow"  and got soaked.
I brought him extra pants but not socks and shoes, so when we stopped at the store on the way home I got the "You brought your child outside in this weather without shoes on "  look from a lot of people.

Saturday we helped clean my in-laws house so they could host the lunch for my new nephews baby blessing on Sunday.
This Nephew was named Karl after Nicks grandpa, just like Jacks middle name!!

Sunday we packed up, went to the blessing and headed home.
We Stopped at my parents house for 2 hours .
And luckily Grandma had snow right in her backyard and Coop got to play in it again.
Then we spent another 6 hours on the road,
because that "Big Storm" from Tuesday, finally caught up with us.

Jacks was not pleased.... Have I mentioned
that he HATES his car seat!

I'm Thankful for:
Our Parents
Safe Travel
Snow/Sledding
Nick

29

Today I turned 29.

I was spoiled by my boys.
Cooper got me a pretty necklace that he picked himself,

Jack got me the next book we are reading for book club.
And slept through the night too!!

Nick got me a double jogging stroller,
and because he is out of town he had flowers delivered to me
in First Period!!

29 is pretty old but even if
THIS
was all I had to show for it,
I'd say its been a good 29 years.

I am a lucky Girl!

Silver Lining

I have been spending a lot of time lately thinking about the good things that come packaged in bad experiences.

Today I have a cold... a real doozy.  I was in charge of Singing-time at church, it was more like mouth-the-word -time

But my silver lining is:  I cannot Yell.. Not even when I really want to.... I can't raise my voice or even sound upset.
The difference in our home today has been HUGE.  What an eye-opener.

I am going to Yell less and try to hold on to the stillness of the QUIET times with my Boys.

Thank you COLD-GERMS.
